1- Second skin:

• At the end of our session, I will be covered with a protective film we call 'second skin'. You can leave it on for the following 3 to 4 days and it will protect your tattoo against bacterias and infections. The first 24h are the most important. The second skin is waterproof and breathable, meaning you can shower normally but make sure it doesn't get soaked.

• If you see too much liquid coming off your tattoo, you should remove your second skin. It's not good for the healing to have liquid inside the second skin for too long.

• If you see any redness or feel any itchiness, remove the second skin immediately.

2-Cleaning process:

• After removing the second skin properly (under the shower, stretching it gently and slowly), you will wash your tattoo with a neutral soap with clean hands. No need to rub or scratch your tattoo. Once you are done, pat dry with a paper towel or a clean towel. Let it also dry a bit naturally and then apply a thin layer of ointment. Too much cream won't allow the skin to breath properly. If you feel that your tattoo is getting dry during the day, with clean hands you can apply a bit more cream.

You will repeat this process twice a day for the first week, once a day for the second week. After that you can keep using the ointment until the tattoo is completely healed.

• Only use normal moisturizer once the tattoo is completely healed. That also applies for sunblock.

3- Scabbing and peeling:

• After a few days, you may notice that your tattoo will start to scab and become a bit itchy. Do not itch or scratch as this could not only cause an uneven healing but also cause an infection. You can always use a cold compress (make sure you use a paper tower between the ice and the fresh tattoo) or apply a little bit more of the cream.

4- Things to avoid:

• Sun/sauna/lakes/swimming pools must be avoided until the tattoo is completely healed, around 3-4 weeks.

• Heavy sports must be avoided at least for 4 days. One weeks would be advisable. Sweat is not good for your tattoo.
